Watch: ‘Stumps everywhere’ – Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad produce identical off-stump uprooting rippers

Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad of Gujarat Titans produced identical deliveries in IPL 2023

Watch: Afghanistan spinners Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad produced identical deliveries to send back R Ashwin and Devdutt Padikkal, respectively, as Rajasthan Royals collapsed to 118 all out against Gujarat Titans today in IPL 2023 (May 5).

RR were in all sorts of trouble after they were reduced to 60-3 in 6.5 overs when R Ashwin walked out at No.5. While Yashasvi Jaiswal was run out, the other two top-order wickets fell to pace, with Hardik Pandya and Joshua Little sending back Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson.

It was a spin show thereafter, as Rashid and Noor made the most of a fragile batting order. Rashid was the first to the party, sending back Ashwin with a ripper. He sent down a delivery on the leg stump, which the batter tried to push away on the off-side. However, the ball spun away, past his outside edge before it went on to rattle the off-stump. Ashwin departed for a six-ball two, as RR’s misery continued.

Rashid also dismissed Riyan Parag soon after, before Noor got into the game, sending back Padikkal with a similar delivery as the one that dismissed Ashwin. Padikkal looked clueless as the ball turned away from the bat to dismantle the stumps behind, forcing him to walk back to the pavilion for a run-a-ball 12.

The duo went on to pick five wickets combined, with Rashid grabbing three as RR posted their lowest total ever at Jaipur. Gujarat Titans went on to win the clash with nine wickets to spare in 13.5 overs.
