Watch: Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Aiden Markram ended Suryakumar Yadav’s brief stay on the pitch with a fine diving catch, right after the Mumbai Indians batter clattered a six off Marco Jansen, during their IPL 2023 fixture.

In Hyderabad, Markram was as good as ever on the field, first completing a diving grab to gobble up an Ishan Kishan leading edge earlier in the over. The dismissal brought in Suryakumar, who returned to form in the last game with a 25-ball 43, having managed a combined tally of 15 in the first three innings this season.

A trademark leg-side whip over the fine-leg fence suggested that the runs would continue, but it wasn’t to be. A Jansen cutter followed, and Surya could only check-drive it. Markram came into the picture once again: at mid-off, he sprang out of position and leapt full-stretch to his left, snaffling his second grab across five balls.

The double whammy reduced Mumbai Indians to 95-3 after 12 overs, but Cam Green, then on 21 off 19, proceeded to hit his highest T20 score. His knock, combined with Tilak Varma’s 17-ball, 37-run blitz, carried Mumbai to 192-5 in 20 overs.

Markram has currently taken six catches in four innings, the joint-most in IPL 2023 so far, alongside Virat Kohli.
