Watch: A clean, crunching strike from Ishan Kishan sent a Josh Hazlewood delivery flying into the top tier of the Wankhede Stadium for a 102-metre six, during the Mumbai Indians-Royal Challengers Bangalore IPL 2023 match.

Kishan came out all guns blazing in Mumbai’s chase of 200. Back-to-back fours off Hazlewood got him going in the second over, and a 15-run over off Mohammed Siraj in the next took them to 34-0 after three overs.

The next ball, from Hazlewood, travelled to the top tier. It was delivered right into Kishan’s slot, and he pulled it cleanly: the sound of the bat justifying the quality of the stroke. It flew off the blade, travelling 102 metres to give Kishan his third six in four balls.

Ian Bishop, one of the most eloquent speakers in the game, was left speechless on air. “My goodness!” is all that he could manage.

Rohit Sharma, at the non-striker’s end, violently nodded his head in approval.
