Watch: ‘Both caught ball watching’ – Marcus Stoinis run out after mid-pitch collision with Deepak Hooda

Marcus Stoinis run out in IPL 2023 | LSG vs MI

Watch: An unfortunate collision between batting partners Marcus Stoinis and Deepak Hooda led to the run out of Stoinis in Lucknow Super Giants’ IPL 2023 Eliminator against Mumbai Indians in Chennai.

LSG’s stuttered through their chase of 183 in the knockout game, rarely finding any momentum as Mumbai’s bowling ran through them. Only Stoinis (40 off 27) looked in flow, and along with Hooda, attempted to bring the floundering innings back on track.

Off the fifth ball of the 11th over, calamity struck with Stoinis’ run out. The all-rounder tapped a Cam Green ball to mid-wicket and ran back for a couple, but the process of looking at the ball led to both losing sight of each other.

As they passed each other for the second run, there was a mid-pitch bump between the two, sucking out all momentum of the run. By the time Stoinis managed to reach the other side, Ishan Kishan had already flicked off the bails.
