Punjab have punched above their weight halfway into the tournament, having recorded four wins out of their first seven games. They have had handy contributions from almost everyone and have not excessively depended on one or two individuals. Shikhar Dhawan, their first-choice captain and the only experienced top-order batter, is expected to return for tonight’s game after missing the last three matches due to injury.

Quinton de Kock has sat out ever since he returned from his international commitments. There might be a temptation to bring him in for Kyle Mayers, who has got 20+ scores in each of his last three innings, but all of them have been at sub-130 strike rates. Lucknow can also consider dropping Deepak Hooda and bringing in Manan Vohra in his place. Mark Wood should also return in place of Naveen Ul Haq.
