Watch: Jos Buttler produced a stunning batting display to hit Basil Thampi for 26 runs in an over, which included three massive sixes and two majestic fours.

The Rajasthan Royals had gotten off to a sedate start after two overs: with opener Yashasvi Jaiswal gone, the score read 13-1 after 2.4 overs. In the fourth over, though, Buttler took matters into his own hands and produced an astonishing assault on Indian seamer Basil Thampi. The over began with a dot ball, but Buttler capitalised on the second delivery and pulled it over mid on for four.

He then clubbed a length delivery over wide long on, before repeating the dose a ball later. On the fourth ball, Buttler created room for himself and smashed the ball over the bowler’s head.

The wicket-keeper finished off the over with another mammoth hit over long on. The Englishman’s assault ensured that the Royals were back on track after the early dismissal of Jaiswal. Buttler went on to complete his 2nd IPL century off 66 balls, posting the first three-figure score in IPL 2022 in the process. His innings also powered RR to a massive total of 193-8.
