The women’s 6ixty 2022: Full squad list for all three teams in the T10 competition

by Wisden Staff 1 minute read

The 6ixty, a 60-ball format, will be played on August 24, with the women’s competition — here’s the fill squad and team list for the 2022 event.

Cricket West Indies (CWI) and the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) have joined hands for The 6ixty, which is a reinvention of the existing T10 league. The tournament will be played a few days before this year’s CPL gets underway, and will feature both a women’s and a men’s competition.

The tournament will have a number of unique laws and rules. Each side will only have six wickets a side, instead of the usual ten, and an extra powerplay over can be added if a team hits two sixes in the first two overs. There will also be a ‘mystery’ free hit during the clash, the timing of which will be selected by a fan voting system.

The women’s competition will feature three teams: Trinbago Knight Riders, Barbados Royals and Guyana Amazon Warriors. They will play a total of seven games over five days. The winners will be given the Universe Boss Trophy, in honour of Chris Gayle, who is also the ambassador for The 6ixty.

All seven women’s games will be played at Warner Park in St. Kitts.

The squads for the women’s CPL and The 6ixty will be the same. The three teams will be led by Hayley Matthews (Barbados Royals Women), Stafanie Taylor (Guyana Amazon Warriors Women) and Deandra Dottin (Trinbago Knight Riders Women).
