My life at Lord’s: MCC head groundsman Mick Hunt

by Wisden Staff 5 minute read

MCC head groundsman Mick Hunt retires at the end of the year after 49 years tending the hallowed turf at Lord’s.

In that time his work has benefitted every spectator coming to Lord’s for nearly half a century. Here he discusses his long and happy tenure with the MCC.

In recognition of his exceptional service to the game, MCC is accepting donations to a special fund, the proceeds of which will be presented to Mick upon his retirement. If you’d like to contribute, you can send a cheque made payable to “MCC – M Hunt Testimonial Fund”, together with a note giving your name and email or postal address (in order that your donation can be acknowledged) to: Testimonial Fund, MCC, Lord’s Ground, London NW8 8QN.
