Watch: Fawad Alam departs for golden duck after Mitchell Starc unleashes reverse-swinging beauty

by Wisden Staff 2 minute read

Mitchell Starc removed Fawad Alam for a golden duck on the third day of the second Test between Australia and Pakistan, with a reverse-swinging ball that trapped the left-hander in front of his stumps.

The left-arm quick, who’d removed Azhar Ali with his previous ball in the middle session of the day, greeted Pakistan’s No.5 batter with a lethal delivery first up, getting the ball to tail in. The finger went up and Fawad departed without scoring in his first knock of the series.

Starc’s blows proved key as Pakistan collapsed from 45-1 to 97-7, with Australia’s quicks running riot – Pat Cummins and Cameron Green also found reverse swing to pile further misery upon the hosts.
