Watch: Trent Boult’s perfect set up to dismiss Tamim Iqbal

by Wisden Staff 2 minute read

Watch: Trent Boult bowled a series of outswingers before dismissing Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal with a straight ball angled into the left-hander in the first ODI between New Zealand and Bangladesh in Dunedin on Saturday.

In an exhibition of new ball bowling, the New Zealand quick set up Tamim with a series of outswing deliveries that moved away from the left-hander before the perfect straight ball angled into him had him plumb in front.

“He’s got the ability in these conditions to exploit the swing in these conditions. But, it’s not the swing that necessarily gets a wicket, exposing that outside edge. He was trying to set Tamim Iqbal up for that that delivery,” former New Zealand commentator, Grant Elliott explained on air.
