Watch: ‘He lost his patience’ – Rohit charges down to sharp turner, gets stumped to kickstart top-order collapse

Rohit Sharma was dismissed by Matt Kuhnemann, the first wicket to fall in the India-Australia Indore Test
by Wisden Staff 2 minute read

Watch: Rohit Sharma, who received two lifelines early in his innings, fell to Matt Kuhnemann in the sixth over to end a patchy knock, during the first session of the third India-Australia Test.

Rohit could have been out twice in the first over, but Australia did not seek DRS on both occasions. He was dismissed soon after, getting stumped by Alex Carey. Rohit struck two fours in his innings but struggled against spin, with Nathan Lyon and Kuhnemann beating the batter’s outside edge regularly.

On the last ball of the sixth over, Rohit, who had seen a couple of deliveries spin away, decided to come down the track and take the attack back to the bowler, only to be deceived in flight. The ball dipped, turned away and beat his outside edge before settling into the hands of Carey, who immediately whipped off the bails.

“He lost his patience,” noted Sunil Gavaskar on air.

India lost their in-form skipper with the score on 27, and were soon reduced to 45-5 at the time of writing.
