Watch: Virat Kohli pulls off stunning catch after India teammates drop sitters

Watch Kohli catch

Watch: Virat Kohli took a stunning catch at mid-wicket to lead from the front, so to say, after his teammates dropped sitters during the second day of the Adelaide Test between India and Australia.

India had a poor day in the field for the most part. Marnus Labuschagne, the Australia No.3, was dropped twice cheaply, and given his recent form – he came into the match having scored at least a half-century in each of his last five Tests – his wicket was a prized one.

However, India had a sloppy day in the field. Labuschagne was first dropped by Jasprit Bumrah in the deep, when he was on just 12. Labuschagne attempted to pull a short one behind square, but Bumrah was running around it in the deep, and while the catch seemed regulation, he fumbled it.

Arguably Labuschagne’s next reprieve was perhaps even more shocking. Prithvi Shaw was the culprit this time, as Labuschagne tamely pulled a short one from Bumrah. Shaw, stationed at square-leg, seemed to misjudge it’s flight, putting it down after running backwards and to his left. The camera panned to skipper Kohli, who didn’t look too pleased.

There were further drops throughout the day from India, with Mayank Agarwal and Wriddhiman Saha also dropping chances of varying degrees of difficulty. However, one person who couldn’t be faulted for lax fielding was the skipper himself.

Kohli, stationed at mid-wicket, pulled off a blinder, diving to his right to claim the catch that dismissed debutant Cameron Green, who had looked to pull strongly off Ashwin. He couldn’t go past Kohli, though, and was dismissed for 11.

Watch below the footage of Kohli taking that blinder of a catch.
