In this quiz, you have to recall a pair of classic Mark Nicholas Ashes 2005 commentary lines word for word.

The 2005 Ashes is fondly remembered as one of the greatest series of all time, and not just for the onfield action. The bout was the last Test series shown on free-to-air TV in the UK until 2021, and the coverage is as celebrated as the cricket itself.

Esteemed broadcaster Nicholas was at the top of his game, with his narration of two deliveries in particular ascending into cricketing folklore. In each, Michael Clarke was bowled, first at Edgbaston in England’s series-levelling two-run win, and second at Old Trafford, in a game England were one wicket from winning. Any more info than that, including the names of the bowlers involved, might give it away.

Good luck!
