Having set the cut-off at a minimum of 500 runs, we ended up with 17 players who have reached that mark in England so far. Most of these are stellar names in Indian cricket history – naturally, given England is a tough place for any visiting batsman.

Three of the 17 have crossed the 1,000-run mark – no prizes for guessing who they are – while among the list of 17 players, as many as three are active players.
