There have been 11 instances of hat-tricks in the World Cup, the first coming all the way back in 1987, with the most recent edition, last year, comprising two hat-tricks.

It is, increasingly, a batsman’s game, but bowlers have over the years found ways to keep shining, and there really is nothing more thrilling than a hat-trick.
