Ponting made his Test debut against Sri Lanka in Perth in 1995. After a career spanning 17 years, he called it quits back where it all started – at Perth, against South Africa in 2012.

A lot changed for Australia in the years. They became one of the most feared sides in Test history, while in ODIs, they were dominant with three World Cup wins on the trot. Ponting was at the helm of it all.
